“As you’re a former bullied teen and have spoke out on this before…any advice for those of us heading back to school?”
Remember to walk through those doors with your head held high, even though that might be tough some days. Remember, this is not permanent and this time in your life will pass. School will be done soon, before you know it.
Remember to love others, but most importantly, love yourself. Don’t ever let someone else’s opinion on yourself effect your own opinion of yourself in a negative way.
Remember to be kind to all those who show you compassion and even those who don’t You never know who might just be in desperate need for a friend. You never know who looks forward to that one class just because you’re there and will actually talk to them.
Remember that a friend is there to build you up and not tear you down. A friend who makes you feel like dirt is not a friend. I promised myself that even if it meant eating alone at lunch, I would not let people into my life that didn’t need to be there.
As hard as it is, do not let the world harden you. Do not let it keep you from seeing the beauty and adventure that life has to offer.
Keep smiling and some day that smile might change this world.
